An Alternative opinion on this war

by Sunil Malhotra

Whilst we continue our march into the next millennium; whilst we talk of mobile communication; whilst we bask in the information age; whilst we sign multilateral treaties on nuclear disarmament; whilst we keep doing things the way we have since the barbaric times, the enlightened being looks down towards us with derision writ all over his sagely countenance. Mocking our fragility and exposing our true nature. Will we never learn! The Kashmir issue and the current makings of a war have nothing to do with us humans. They are the pastimes of politicians. Even the most demented of criminals cannot outclass this specie of parasites.  I have this theory. Talking about a problem makes sure that the problem always stays right there and the more you talk about it, it keeps growing so that you can never get rid of it.  Look at what the media is doing. They're playing squarely into willing hands so our dear politician can laugh all the way to his throne. I cannot understand why Kashmir is an issue in the first place. Ask people what the whole thing is about, and nobody will be able to tell you exactly what the problem is.  God's earth has no lines to demarcate boundaries. These lines we see on maps are made by printing machines and get etched on the politician's brain to substitute the wigglies God made. That is if I can presume that there is a brain at all! Hundreds of humans on either side are succumbing on this mindless boardgame that India and Pakistan are trying to entertain themselves with. Young hearts are being broken, children orphaned and women widowed. Old parents look expectantly into the dusk with expressions of stunned disbelief. Why? Because some Prime Minister is missing his evening game of battleships. The course charted by the internet is worth a closer look. Everything is about erasing boundaries for the whole world to share the earth's bounty. Go to a discussion group and ask for help and you'll find messages from all over that lend a helping hand --- without seeking reciprocation. I suggest that somebody ask the people of Kashmir what they want instead of taking third-party opinions. Why should anybody be empowered to decide someone else's fate. Strangely enough, the “softer” the problem, the more difficult it is to wish away. And even more curious is the fact that it cannot be resolved through proven, erstwhile as well as current, business philosophies and methods which are worshipped worldwide. The problem looms large and threatens the very survival of the human race.  At the heart of these issues is an attitude. The attitude that the power of money bestows. Of possessing before belonging. Of usurping before sharing. Without even an iota of guilt or remorse.  What I'd like to see is a spacebus full of politicians sent into orbit. They can take all their toys with them and wreak havoc on their own kind.  Will the media please SHUT UP!! And let us humans live in PEACE.
